Christopher Lewis

I’m a Creative Technologist and Senior Web Engineer with decades of experience in media, advertising and art. I’m at my best working with web technologies on physical or virtual installations and sites.

I regularly work with a full stack and the tools I use include webpack, bable, typescript, node.js, npm, yarn, pip, python, git, postman, screaming frog, AWS, Google Cloud, Docker, React, React Native, Angular, Next.js, Bootstrap, Tailwind, SASS, Express, PHP, SQL, NoSQL, Sanity, Prismic, Contentful, Adobe Creative Cloud, 3DS Max, etc.

The tools I use can fall into both the creativity and technology buckets. This is reflected in my career path; I went from Creative Director to Product Manager to Flash Developer to Senior Web Engineer. Throughout my career, I’ve always worked at taking abstract concepts and turning them into concrete products; scripting and programming are essential tools in that process, but they are not the “work” itself.

When I was young and just getting into the space, I was really interested in building a large portfolio of brands. Further in my career, I’m proud to list the following:

Adidas, Amalgamated Transit Union, American Express, Astral, BAE Systems, BMO – Bank of Montreal, Babe Wine, CAMH, CIBC, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Canadian Marketing Awards, Chevrolet, Cialis, Cineplex, Cirque du Soleil, Cymbalta, Dairy Farmers of Manitoba, Dell, Diamond, FITC, Fenty Skin, Ford, GM, GlowStone Lighting, Google, H&R Block, HOPE 2220, Harper Collins, JYSK, Jack Daniels, Kinder, Kraft Mac n Cheese, Levi’s, Lululemon, Mini Canada, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), NBC Universal, Nature Conservancy of Canada, Navdy, Nestle, nOs Energy Drink, OLG, Playtex, Porsche, President Cheese, Pringles, RBC, Ritz Carlton Nomad, Rogers, Sago Sago, Samsung, Scotiabank, Seneca College, Shoppers Drug Mart, Smarties, Smirnoff, Sonnet Insurance, Suntrust, TD Canada Trust, The Toronto Zoo, Toyota, Visine, Volkswagen,

Parallel to my professional “day job”, I’ve also been an off and on college level professor with Seneca College. I’ve taught for 8 years in every aspect of computer graphics and rich media production; motion, 2D & 3D animation, VR/XR, game engines, raster and vector graphics, web and mobile development and more. Developing curricula was always a great way to sharpen and hone my skills.

I’m proud of the many awards I’ve won over the course of my career. While I’m not motivated by awards, I believe they’re an indicator that what you’ve created meets a professional level of quality. Here’s a short list of the recognition my projects have achieved:
